"Out of Control"

We have a student that just started about a week ago. There are very few students who will come into a classroom and let it all show the first day. I don't know why I act so surprised when I experience this type of behavior. I thought I find out from a person such as this "Why?" His response was that the school was ghetto and that is "Why?" he acted the way he did. Just think if we all responded on first impression, in a negative way. I told him that he didn't have the correct picture of our school and that our students work hard. That was yesterday and today he is trying to verbally do better. This was an "Out of Control" situation that is on the road to being controlled.
